FAQ
What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions is the process in which a single synthetic lash is applied onto one natural lash with medical grade adhesive. It gives the look of fuller and longer lashes without the use of mascara. You can customize the lashes with a variety of choices in lengths, widths and curls.
What are the lash extensions made out of?
Lash extensions can be made out of real animal (mink) fur, human hair, or synthetic PBT fiber. I only use and carry synthetic lashes for my clients. Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is a synthetic semi-crystalline engineered thermoplastic. It is a high performance material with high molecular weight and is often characterized as being a strong, stiff, and engineerable plastic.
How long do they last?
To maintain the look of your full set of lashes after you have them applied it is recommended to come back for a fill every 2-3 weeks. If you wait too long your lashes will shed and might require a new full set again. The longevity of your eyelash extensions will also depend on what type of remover and makeup products you use so the better you care for them the longer they will last.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
When you come in for your lash appointment we ask that you please come in with no eye makeup on. Coming in with makeup will take away from the time you have to get lashes put on. Shower before hand if it will make it easier for you since you cannot get your lashes wet for up to 24hrs after. It is also preferred if all clients avoid consuming caffeine in the hours prior to their appointment as you will be lying down with your eyes closed for a long period of time. Please plan accordingly for your appointment.
Will they damage my lashes?
When applied properly the lashes do not damage your natural lash. When your natural lash sheds, the eyelash extension will shed along with it. However a BAD application with an inexperienced artist, picking/pulling of lashes, sleeping or being rough on them, applying a lot of makeup can cause damage. The average person has 90-120 natural lashes per eye and each eye will naturally shed 2-5 lashes per day. so seeing your lash shed is normal.
Will I still need mascara?
You will not need to use mascara but for those times that you want more drama you can definitely use water based mascara. If you still want to use mascara after having the extensions applied, please just request us to make them look thicker/fuller before putting product on. If you are going to use mascara still, please make sure to use a water soluble one (no waterproof).
What are the differences between classic, combo, and volume lashes?
Classic lash extensions is the traditional method of lashing. One lash extension is applied to one natural lash. They mimic the look of mascara without the mess.

Volume lash extensions otherwise known as "russian volume" is a technique that allows us to adhere up to 6 single lashes onto one to give a more voluminous look. This lash technique is customized since each fan is handmade and is very unique to each client.

Combo lashes is the mix of both classic lashes and volume fans. This is a good option for those wanting to try out volume or to transition over. It is a also a good choice for those who still want a natural look but with definition in specific areas.
Can I get my extensions wet at all?
Yes after the 24-48 hour window is done you can get them wet. It is recommended that you clean them with a lash cleanser every every other day to keep them clean- which will make them last a lot longer.
How do I clean them?
You are going to want a good cleaner, we offer a foam cleanser which is our favorite. We use it on you before every full set/ fill. You will want to use a lint free applicator stick and apply the foam all over the lid area, especially the lash line. You'll want the cleanser to submerge into the lashes and if you don't have the applicator stick you can pat dry with something lint free.
Will I have to take a break from lashes?
You can have lashes for the rest of your life without taking a break with regular maintanence. With a extension being applied onto your natural lash, the lash can only last as long as the cycle of that particular lash. As long as the lashes are well taken care of, the lashes should shed normally as they do as if there was no extension.
